For some, the pursuit of the American Dream has been a marathon up a steep hill. You started the year with goal of owning a home. You attended the homebuyer seminars, and have the pens to prove it in your office drawer. You spoke with your lender, got pre approved, monitored rates. But something didn’t connect. Showings fell short, Open Houses were more filter than value, and you’re recognizing you’re burned out and need to take a break. Good! The path to buying your first home, next home, and dream home isn’t always smooth. If you feel yourself becoming more of a house skeptic vs house hunter, it’s best to recharge. A lot of times, the belief is, “Fred, if we take a break, we will miss the home we’ve been waiting for!” WRONG ! You and I both know you never actually take a break, however, shifting the mindset from hyperactive to casual can lower the pressure. I’m not saying become lax in your dealbreakers, I’m saying lower the pressure on yourself to find perfect.

While the rest is history, when we first walked in to tour it, I was convinced I had made a huge mistake. The kitchen… It was green… a sea foam green. The Triangle, the happiest place on Earth?? Well for some, but for fans of Disney, the news from earlier this week put a smile on a lot of faces, and raised the eyebrows of many with intrigue. The Walt Disney Company announced its plans to build a residential community in Chatham County. Asteria will be located northeast of Pittsboro along the Haw River, between highways 64 and 501. This will be the second Storyliving by Disney, with the first being just outside of Los Angeles. Storyliving by Disney is the brand behind this new development. The idea is to build a vibrant community anchored by "the magic of Walt Disney Imagineering and presented with Disney service that puts you at the center of everything." Asteria will be apart of the Chatham Park development, will feature 1,500 acres filled with more than 4,000 residential units. The units will include single- and multi-family homes, and they will have some sites specifically designated for adults 55 years and older. Homes will begin selling in 2027!

The unfortunate misconception of the home “selling itself” has clouded some to believe listing agents don’t provide value.
